Meet the friendly staff at Animal Wellness Veterinary Center!
Dr. Vivian Joohee Seo graduated from Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Music. She earned her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in sunny California in 2013. Her focus since graduation has been on emergency medicine and critical care primarily. She finds that having the ability to help debilitated animals back to health is a fascinating and rewarding career. Dr. Seo has done volunteer work with police dogs and the local animal control organizations. She cares for her patients and their families with a warm heart and great passion. Outside of work, Dr. Seo enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, playing the piano, going to concerts, and art galleries.
Julia comes to Animal Wellness with a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of New Haven. After graduating in 2005 Julia has held a variety of different roles in the workplace including positions in marketing and production as well as caring for dogs in the training program at Guiding Eyes for the Blind and assisting in their veterinary hospital. She has also worked as a dog trainer at PetSmart and in animal socialization as a volunteer with the Connecticut Humane Society. In her spare time Julia enjoys photography, traveling, watching nature documentaries and playing with her family’s dog, Molly.
Jody graduated from Rutger's University with a B.A. In English Literature and a concentration in Creative Writing. Ready for a change fueled by her love of animals, Jody joined our team, and may be recognized by many of you from her previous job at Grieb's Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, as well as customer service liaison, and assistant store manager. As a member of a large family, she grew up surrounded by all sorts of fur babies (some not so furry), but currently is tolerated by two cats - Kili and Brigette. When not acting as an unofficial treat giver, Jody enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
She earned her B.S from the University of Connecticut in Animal Science. Monica has worked with a wide variety of animals at the CT Humane Society, Wildlife in Crisis, and the Beardsley Zoo. We know her innate way with animals and her previous experience with sensitive creatures will make her an asset for all the animals we treat. At home she has a beagle, named Brandy, and a cat, Trixie. When Monica is not with animals, she teaches zumba and loves performing in musical theater!
Always with her love of animals and hair, Lucia graduated from J.M. Wright Tech School as a licensed hairdresser in 2000 and quickly made the decision to become a groomer when she started working at Best Friends in Norwalk. She was able to infuse her hairdressing experience into her furry clients, and is excited to keep doing so in her new Salon inside of AWVC. Lucia is a mother of four beautiful girls Lorelai, Alyssa, Alana, & Ariana and an endearing stepson Kristian along with her 5 fur babies Wang, Sven, Raphael, Violet, & Rico. Lucia enjoys playing volleyball alongside her husband Tito and enjoys her “downtime” with her family.
